Hours of Operation
Tours are offered Wednesdays through Sundays,
at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.
(Audio tours are offered if a docent is not available.)
The Museum is open from early April through early January.
The Museum offers tours of the first floor Wednesday through Sunday, on the hour at 12, 1, 2 and 3 p.m. The second floor is currently closed due to construction; therefore, tours will only be of the first floor during this time. The Museum will be closed for tours on Saturday, September 20th and will be open from 12-4 for half-priced mini-tours during the Old Fashioned Flea Market on Sunday, September 21st.
On each tour, visitors are shown the beautiful detail and craftsmanship that went into building this gorgeous structure. Your knowledgeable tour guide leads you through the first and second floors of the Mansion pointing out the details of every room and explaining how and why this house was built along with the families that once lived here. Tours last approximately 55 minutes and start exactly on the hour.
* Throughout the Holiday Season, the second floor of the Mansion is closed to visitors due to the Holiday Exhibit.
* Groups of 8 or more are considered a Group Tour and require a minimum two-week reservation. Please call 203-838-9799, ext. 6, to schedule a Group Tour.

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is located in Mathews Park, 295 West Avenue Norwalk, Connecticut.
From I-95 Northbound (I-95 from NYC):
I-95 to exit 14. At stop sign at the top of the exit ramp go straight to next stop sign; continue straight, down hill to stop light. At light turn left, continue on West Avenue to third traffic light. Turn right, between two stone pillars into Mathews Park. Continue straight approximately 300 feet; The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is on the right.
From I-95 Southbound:
Take Exit 15, look for the Maritime Center sign and bear right down the hill. At stop light turn right onto West Avenue. The Museum is directly on the right. Entrance is between two stone pillars at stop light.
Merritt Parkway Northbound:
Take Exit 38. Turn left. Continue on New Canaan Avenue (Route 123). Wendy's will be on the right. One mile farther the Norwalk Hospital is located on the right. At the next light following hospital, turn left. At intersection, go straight into the Mansion driveway.
Merritt Parkway Southbound:
Take Exit 38 (New Canaan Avenue). At end of ramp, take right. Follow New Canaan Avenue south. (Route 123) Continue on past Wendy's on the right. One mile farther the Norwalk Hospital is located on the right hand side. At light following hospital, turn left. At the next intersection, go straight into the Mansion driveway.
Take Route 7 south to Norwalk, at Grist Mill Road (directly opposite the Connecticut Motor Vehicle Department) turn right. Proceed up the hill to the second traffic light and turn left onto RT 7 expressway. Continue approximately 2.5 miles to the end of the expressway. Take the center exit (South Norwalk-Maritime Center), at the bottom of the exit, at the traffic light turn left. Continue on West Avenue to the second traffic light; turn right between the two stone pillars into Mathews Park. Continue straight approximately 300 feet; The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is on the right.
