DESCRIPTION:The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum’s Great Gatsby Tea will be a luxurious whirlwind of delicious refreshments that will immerse our guests into the grand and extravagant era of Francis Scott Fitzgerald’s dashing and daring anti-hero.\nThe event\, chaired by LMMM Trustee Hunter Arton will feature a talk entitled\, Fashion for a New Era: Clothing the Modern Woman\, by Barnum Curator and Clothing Historian Adrienne Saint-Pierre. Come experience this memorable teatime\, with a menu worthy of the Great Gatsby.\nWomen’s clothing styles were transformed in the 1910s and 20s by the need—and desire—for more practical garments than those worn in the Victorian and Edwardian eras.  More women were entering the workforce\, and the impacts of World War I were pervasive\, even affecting the fashion and textile industries.
