Spring Tea at the Mansion May 3, 2026, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum will host a Spring Tea at the Mansion chaired by LMMM Trustee Lynne H. Byington. The event will feature a talk titled, Gardens of the Gilded Age, by Jana Milbocker. Luxurious tea refreshments, a hat contest, a silent auction, and a special drawing will complement this exciting afternoon. Tickets are limited, and reservations are required.

In this richly illustrated talk, Jana explores the breathtaking estates and legendary landscapes created for families such as the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, and du Ponts—alongside the visionary architects and designers who brought their grandeur to life. Discover the stories behind these magnificent gardens and the people who shaped them.
Jana Milbocker is an author, speaker, and garden designer. She loves to visit gardens and historic sites in the United States and abroad and share her trips through guided garden tours, photos, and prose. In addition to Gardens of the Gilded Age, she is the author of four garden travel guides which profile 310 gardens on the East Coast. Milbocker lives in the Boston area, and worked as an art director and marketing specialist for 30 years before launching her garden design business in 2010.
